Loose the Captive
On a snowy March Sunday in Kansas City, Deanna Miller reached her breaking point as her life was turned upside down when her girlfriend of five years broke up with her. Desperately grasping for renewed hope in life, she turned to a friend from church and confessed the truth. She had been secretly living a transgender life, traveling down the road to gender reassignment surgery to become a man, but now she was ready to surrender her life—and her gender identity—to Christ.
Loose the Captive tells the amazing story of Deanna’s journey from an LGBT life to becoming a faithful follower of Christ. Along the way, she had to reassess everything that she had taken as true and hold it up to the light of the gospel. Deanna grappled with breaking the chains of her cross-dressing lifestyle, battling suicidal thoughts and dissociative behavior, and facing abuse from the past. But through this journey full of unexpected bumps and turns, Deanna gained the true freedom, joy, and life that is only found in the Lord.
